The Great Largs 10k Fun Run is organised by Peter Grant, helped by his fellow members of the Rotary Club of Largs.

This picture shows Peter competing in the London marathon in 2006. This was the third time he had run in the London marathon. He was running for Diabetes UK and achieved his best time to date, completing the run in 4hrs 22mins. In 2007 he was running for Alzheimer Scotland.

Peter has raised a total of £6,400 from the first three marathons, alone. To date, in excess of £22,000 has been raised for local and national charities. This amount includes the proceeds from the Great Largs 10k Fun Run that is now (2008) in its 24th year. The Rotary Club of Largs, of which Peter is a member, has been instrumental in helping him organise this annual event and he is very grateful for the Club's support. His clients in his hairdressing salon and members of the general public have been extremely generous as well, and have helped contribute to this magnificent amount.

As far as Peter's training goes, he's taking every opportunity to get out and put the miles in, and is looking forward to the 2009 Run - the 25th - and the special atmosphere that always accompanies this special occasion.
